How it works

  1. Download and install HPX Converter.
  2. Drop a P2 card folder or its CONTENTS folder into the app.
  3. Review the clip list; clips without a verified CLIP XML match are skipped by default.
  4. Select Maximum Compatibility (ProRes) or Fast (H.264).
  5. Convert — output files are numbered in shoot order (001.mov, 002.mov, …).
  6. Import the MOV files into your editor. ProRes is intended for NLE workflows; Fast H.264 is suited to QuickTime and Finder playback.

Maximum Compatibility

Apple ProRes MOV (422 HQ by default). Larger files and slower conversion. Use when a mezzanine codec is preferred for editing.

Fast

H.264 MOV via hardware encoding. Smaller files and faster conversion. Use for QuickTime, Finder previews, and general playback.

About

HPX Converter reads standard P2 card folders, pairs video and audio MXF using CLIP XML metadata when verification succeeds, and writes numbered MOV files in shoot order.

Other P2 cameras that use the same folder layout may work. The free trial converts up to 5 clips per run on your own footage.
